Suitable for…
This session is suitable for ages 12+ with past trials experience. Bring your own bike or hire one of ours.
What to expect…
On arrival, you’ll sign on and get kitted up before watching a short safety brief video. You’ll then meet your instructor and be assigned a bike for the day… then the fun begins! Head out into the fields to start your training – training starts off on flattish ground where your instructor will teach you the very basics of bike control and get you comfortable on the bike before gradually progressing onto ‘sections’. Sections are essentially obstacles which your instructor will mark out using coloured flags. As the day progresses, so will your skills! Each day is tailored dynamically to the ability of the group.
On the full day experience, you’ll head out for 2 hours in the morning before heading back to base for a hot homemade lunch. Once you’re refuelled, you’ll head back out for another 2 hours before the day grinds to a halt and your efforts are rewarded with a refreshing drink. You’ll leave with a huge grin on your face as you’ve just learnt to ride a trials bike!
The bikes…
- EM Epure FACTOR-e: The Ultimate Electric Trials bike, this bike uses a clutch, gearbox & tickover (As used in the 2024 World Trials 2 Championship, British Championship and Scott Trial alongside their petrol counterparts)
- EM Epure Race: Very similar to the Factor-e, still retaining a clutch & tickover but without a gearbox (Latest generation of the bike used in World Championship from 2021-2024, inc Scottish Six Day Trial alongside their petrol counterparts)
- EM Epure: Fantastic entry level trials bike, no clutch or gearbox to worry about just Rev and go , also comes with a PRB (Progressive Regenerative Brake) which is best suited to those with a road or mountain biking background, so you can just concentrate on the trials skills. (Used by many riders from leisure to clubman level Trials)
The awesome thing about the EM range is that the power is fully customisable, so as you get better throughout the day we can gradually increase it, so the bike evolves with you the rider, to get the very best out of your day.
Alternatively we also have a selection of petrol bikes; Beta Evo (2T) and Montesa Cota (4T) bikes to choose from. (please be aware that these are all geared bikes with clutches and will frequently require kick starting)
- Beta Evo 250 2 stroke Petrol: The latest generation Evo, the bike looks very similar to the first generation which first hit the trials scene around 2009 and due to its longevity is the most common bike found at trials events around the country from novice to expert
- Montesa 4rt 260 4 Stroke Petrol: The latest generation Montesa, first released around 2005 the Montesa Honda has received minor tweaks over the years to refine what is a very solid bike with a reputation for great reliability. This is the number 1 choice for 4 stroke riders and used by novice to expert riders alike however, due to its 4 stroke characteristics, is not always as popular at trials events.
